Have you ever wished you could automate your own or your staff’s routine tasks and keep a close eye on the progress? That is precisely what you can do with calc{list}™. Calc{link}™ gives you unlimited control over workflows and automation throughout your organization.
Let’s explore the power of linking with calc{link}™. Every time a new employee is hired the IT manager (Mr. IT) needs to purchase, set up and install a new computer for that employee. Mr. IT created three calc{list}s so he and his staff could keep track of who’s computer is in which stage of the process. The three lists are {Locate Computer}, {Computer Setup} and {Computer Installation}. Mr. IT then defines links between the lists to form a workflow. To do this he simply drags and drops the {Computer Setup} list onto the link page of the {Locate Computer} list. This creates the link between the two lists. Then with one simple click he defines the link action “Remove -> Add”. The result of this link is that when a new employee’s name is removed from the {Locate Computer} list because the new computer has arrived the new employee’s name is added to the {Computer Setup} list. Mr. IT then creates another “Remove -> Add” link between the {Computer Setup} list and the {Computer Installation} list. The result of this link is that when the employee's name is removed from the {Computer Setup} list it is added to {Computer Installation} list. Mr. IT has quickly and easily automated his department’s new computer workflow. Linking is simple and very powerful! Mr. IT adds one more link to streamline his workflow. Human resources maintains an Employees list. Mr. IT wants the new employee's name to be added to his {Locate Computer} list whenever human resources adds a new employee to their list. Again, Mr. IT simply drags and drops the {Employees} list onto the link page of the {Locate Computer} list. This time he clicks the “Add -> Add” link action. When a new employee is added to the {Employees} list by human resources that employee is automatically added to Mr. IT’s {Locate Computer} list. That’s passive automation at work! Combine Mr. IT’s calc{link}™ workflow with some additional calc{mail}s that notify the staff of stage completion and you have a full blown automated system that will keep you far ahead of your competition!
